Halloween Makeup Tips
If you are planning on going all with your Halloween costume this year, there are
several things that you need to do to be safe with your skin and your body. The
proper use of makeup is the main thing.
Makeup is one of the best parts of Halloween and a costume. If you are going to
be a creature or character this year then you are most likely planning your face. Be
sure to practice your face a few times so you can get it right and look great.
Use makeup that you trust and use it how it is intended. If makeup tells you not to apply it to the eyes then don’t. Even if you find the perfect color that you want to
have on your eyes if it says not to use it then don’t. All you need is to sweat at the
party and have the makeup run in your eye and maybe blind you. Be very careful
when you use makeup and always follow the directions. If something is not
supposed to be used on the skin then don’t use it as makeup. The best makeup for Halloween is daily makeup found at the drug store or in your makeup bag. Cheap selections of makeup for costumes can irritate the skin, especially if you have
sensitive skin.
It is common for people to want to color their skin certain colors so they think about using things like a bucket of paint they have in the garage or even nail polish. Be
careful about the things that you put on your skin. Do a little research and verify if
the FDA has approved it for use on your skin. The FDA actually has a website dedicated to colors for cosmetics where you can find out if you can use certain
things on your skin, near your eyes, and more. Find out if you want to use a color
that is not intended for use on the skin.
Don’t fall asleep with your makeup on. Even if you are extremely tired you have to wash the Halloween makeup off of your skin. This is because you can wake up
with skin that is extremely irritated. In addition, dry costume makeup can flake off
and even get in your eyes and all over your pillow. Remove makeup using a damp washcloth, baby wipes or even eye makeup remover. The best makeup remover
is the use of baby wipes. These do not scratch the skin because they are not
abrasive as a washcloth and can wipe the makeup right off. Plus, removing makeup around the eyes needs to be done carefully and wipes work the best.
When you are planning your Halloween costume for this year’s party, be sure that
you pay attention to what you use. Follow directions and don’t use things on your
skin that are not intended or approved by the FDA for the skin. One night of fun
is not worth several weeks of irritation and pain. Also, when the night is over it is
best to wash the makeup off from Halloween right away. Don’t go to sleep with it
still on your face. The longer the makeup is on the more irritated your skin can
become. |
